Sometimes it is a good idea to exchange two controllers to see if the error wanders with the controller, in which case the issue is often related to the controller itself, or if it stays, in which case it is mostly related to the sensor bars. Here is how to do that.
Step 1 | Remove the Covers
- Remove the 8 screws (TX45) of both covers
Step 2 | Unplug the cables
- Disconnect all four connectors on each of the two controllers
- Remember which one goes where
Step 3 | Exchange the controllers
- Exchange controller A with controller B
- Optional: If you want the controllers to stay in their new position, make sure to reconfigure them accordingly
- Note down the state of DIP 5-8 of controllers A and B
- Configure DIP 5-8 on controller A like controller B and controller B like controller A
Step 4 | Replug the cables
- Reconnect all cables
- Make sure it is connected as before
